Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

In the Morning drive out of north Arusha City and on to Tarangire National Park. The Park is home to Zebras, buffalo, gazelle, eland and the oryx. The park also holds a high concentration of herds of elephants. After a morning of game viewing drive you will have a packed lunch followed by a further game viewing drive in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

Day 2

Tarangire – Lake Eyasi

Breakfast. Morning drive out of Tarangire National Park and on crossing the great rift valley wall to Lake Eyasi arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure or visit the local bushmen tribes of hadzabe and the datonga. Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.

Day 3

Hunting With The Hadzabe Bushmen From Lake Eyasi

Early morning depart with a local guide for a hunting trip with the bushmen tribe of the hadzabe before returning back for a brunch. Afternoon at leisure with optional visit to the local village or Lake Eyasi. Meals and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.

Day 4

Lake Eyasi to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and on to Serengeti National Park with game viewing drive en-route followed by a Picnic Lunch. Late afternoon continue drive to your Camp Location. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Katikati Tented Camp.

Day 5

Serengeti National Park

A full day exploring the vast Serengeti National Park with its endless plains. Ever year more than a million wilder beasts, Zebras and Thomson Gazelle gather to undertake the long trek in such of grazing land, this is popularly referred to as the Great Annual Migration. The Park is also rich in plain games and the predators. Optional hot air balloon safari available over the Serengeti Plains. Meals and overnight at Serengeti Katikati Tented Camp.

Day 6

Serengeti National Park

Another full day exploring the vast Serengeti National Park with its endless plains. Day 7

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast. Drive out of the Serengeti National Park with game viewing drive en-route and on to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing drive where one can be able to see the Big 5, Lion, Cheetah, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino. Picnic Lunch served by the Crater picnic site. Late afternoon ascent the Crater. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 8

Ngorongoro Crater to Empakai Crater

After breakfast a short drive to Masai Naonokanoka village passing masai worriers herding their cattle. Hike to the Olmoti Crater and the Water falls, thereafter hike towards the Empakai Crater. This afternoon you will meet your maasai guide with his donkeys for a trekking briefing. Meals and overnight at Empakai Camping Site.

Main Destination: Empakaai Crater (Ngorongoro Highlands)

Day 9

Empakai Crater to Acacia tree

The loading of the donkeys goes easier every day, as the participants and the animals are getting familiar with each other. Today, the journey goes to the Masai village naiyobi. While following a good track, the village as well as oldonyo lengai can be seen from a distance. Just after lunch in naiyobi, the trek leaves the Ngorongoro crater conservation area and the landscape becomes drier and warmer. The camp will be set up at a forest with yellow acacia. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 10

Acacia Camp to Lake Natron

The last stage of the journey is not too long and goes mainly downhill. The highlights of the trek are the great views of Oldonyo Lengai, Lake Natron and the Rift Valley. A big part of the rugged countryside is covered by the ashes of the last eruption in the year 2007, which add to the surreal picture of the landscape. The trek goes deeper down into the dry and hot Rift Valley, where the dried out ashes can be viewed from up close. Just before lunchtime you will reach the waiting jeep. The Masai guide still has to climb the steep escarpment and will say goodbye soon. Our driver will bring you to Lake Natron Lodge for a well-deserved cold drink. Dinner and overnight at Lengai Safari Lodge.

Day 11

Lake Natron

Today you will visit Lake Natron anda visit to the water falls for a cool swim or a masai village. A soda lake at the base of the active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano, the area around Lake Natron is often described as having a desolate and almost lunar beauty. Lake Natron is found in the northern part of Tanzania. Nearest towns to Lake Natron are Arusha in Tanzania and Magadi in Kenya. It is the most important breeding site for Lesser Flamingos in the world.

Day 12

Lake Natron to Arusha

After breakfast drive back to Arusha via the small town of Mto Wa Mbu on the great rift valley wall. Continue drive to Arusha.
